Each year 24,000 newborns are diagnosed with hearing loss, but this is only a portion of the children who develop hearing loss after school begins. Childhood hearing loss, especially noise induced hearing loss, continues to rise among children and adolescents, and now a new study casts doubt on whether or not these children are being properly diagnosed and treated.

Tinnitus is the presence of sounds with no discernible source. There is no known cure for the phantom buzzing, whistling, whining sounds associated with tinnitus. There are, however, many different and effective ways to manage tinnitus, and in the past a reduction of caffeine was often recommended as one such way. But a new study might be tossing this old guideline out the window.
